Wish Me Luck!
Today I applied online for a position at JCPenney Portrait Studio. Only two hours later I received a phone call and tomorrow I have an interview at 4:40! This is basically the first job I have even heard back from! So please please, please say a prayer for me and keep your fingers crossed that I do well and get the job!

Job Hunting...
...is not quite as simple as deer hunting. I would much rather be hunting deer instead of jobs right now. Ugh. I think I have filled out twenty applications, sent my resume to thirty businesses, and have received replies from zero of them. Granted I am being a little impatient since I just applied for a few of them in the last three days, but a lot were submitted weeks ago. Today, I just discovered a job for a Studio Assistant at Jason West Photography. Keep your fingers crossed and say a prayer for me because I REALLY want this job. I would be earning $12 an hour, working about 20 hours a week, and doing what I LOVE! And this would really help me professionally because I have recently decided to minor in Photography (BYU-Idaho just made the minor program). Here is the sample of photographs I included with my resume for the position:

Anyway...classes started yesterday. So far so good. I love this school and I love my major. I am excited for what the semester holds! I will keep you posted on the job situation!

A Summer of Adventure
My summer is almost over. Heading back to Rexburg next Sunday and I start classes on September 10th. I didn't really post a lot during the summer semester so I wanted to share some of my adventures in an overview of the last few months. These are obviously not in chronological order. Here are some of the highlights:
Visiting Yellowstone and watching Old Faithful erupt

Sleeping on a giant haystack.

Exploring an abandoned old farm house

Tanning and swimming with Maria

Lots and lots of country dancing

Fourwheeling in Silver City

Visiting Shoshone Falls with Mom and Dad

Lots of swimming since it was the only way to keep cool with no air conditioning

Floating down the Snake River on these $2 specials and then hitch-hiking back to the car

Visiting California for the Fourth of July

Blog Be Gone?
So since Brittney gets to complain about nobody commenting on her blog...I want to complain a little too. I was thinking about just getting rid of my blog because I don't really think anyone reads it anyway...if I do delete it I will probably start a photography blog instead. Not that anyone would look at that blog either. So if you want me to keep updating this blog, tell me. If I don't get any response...well...I know that at least my Heavenly Father loves me.

Happy Homemaker
For some odd reason I've been having the urge to cook a lot lately. Weird. So on Sunday I attempted some of Mama Hartley's glorious bread dough. The process was grueling since I didn't have a mixer and/or more than two feet of counter space. I started the dough at 9am and everything was finally done at 5pm. Seriously an ALL day activity. The result was amazing though. I made rolls and then a few cinnamon rolls and I think I might have done better than mom. I don't know, we will have to have a bread bake-off. Winner gets a tropical vacation? Yeah?

So in order to complete all of the rolls I had to come home from church after Sacrament meeting...and did I go back? Uhh...well Maria and I decided to go to the gardens on campus and take a few photos. It was fun to practice my photography. Here are a few of the good ones.

I have two days left of the semester! Woo hoo! I finished my last project yesterday and I have only one final which is tomorrow. I probably have one of the easiest finals week ever. I will be home in Nampa on Thursday night and I have seven weeks off before the fall semester. Can't wait to see everyone!

The Soundtrack of My Summer
Summer semester is coming to an end. How do I feel about it? I have no idea. My thoughts are as follows:
Excited to go home and spend time camping, rafting, and four-wheeling with family
Sad to be leaving Rexburg and my roommates
Excited for some of my classes like Stats and Communications to be over
Sad to be done with my fun classes like Canoeing
Excited to go back to work and get a tan
Sad to leave my free and crazy college life
Excited to eat for free for seven weeks
Sad to leave my college ward
Excited to spend time with my singles ward in Nampa
Sad to have to get new roommates in the Fall
Excited to do some training at the Rec for the triathlon and soccer
But these last two weeks are pretty much crazy with finals, projects, packing, cleaning, etc. So Once I get home I will post some pictures of my summer adventures.
