The Grand Finale

This is my last week of school! Hooray! The semester flew by so fast. These last two weeks have been full of working hard on projects and studying for exams and finals. Here are the photos that I turned in for my photography final project. I made some prints and matted them for display. We had to have a common theme within our collection of photos...so I chose a nature theme.

Late Nights

Saturday night...what are we doing? Nothing. It was a slow night and we didn't really have anything to do. So we decided to tie-dye.

The beginning...

Just as we were starting to tie-dye...Suddenly, on our super slow Saturday night, there was like ten people at our door. And they brought us six goldfish for our apartment. So we had to run back to Walmart and buy a fish bowl and fish food. In addition, fish aren't allowed in our apartment, but how could we say no? So shhh...don't tell anyone. Haha...semester is almost over anyway. We named them Fern, Kolipoki, Francine, Princess Consuela Banana Hammock, Calypso, and Crap Bag. (Just in case you don't know...Princess Consuela Banana Hammock and Crap Bag are inspired by Phoebe on Friends.) So mom and dad: I might be bringing a fish home in a few weeks.
After tie-dying, we realized that our gloves didn't really work...so I've had green hands for the last couple of days.

The finishing product...

Almost there...

I have realized that the semester is almost over! YEAH! There is two weeks until I go home for Thanksgiving break and then only another two weeks after that until the end of semester. And all of you probably know that I will be home between January and April because of BYU-Idaho's three track system.

This last weekend all of my roommates and I traveled to Boise for the BSU football game. While I am not a lover of football, my roommate Ashlee is a big fan so she got tickets for all of us.

Tuesday night it started snowing...so we had a snowball fight at like 11:00. Lo and behold the next morning we received an email from our apartment manager informing us that throwing a snowball is illegal in Rexburg. Oops.

This is what woke up to Wednesday morning.
This is a random picture but I thought it was funny. I'm sure it's coincidence, but for some reason when you put your phone next to someone's head you get another bar of service all of a sudden.

I've been having a lot of fun with my major, and like I said my favorite class is Family Recreation. Thursday was "drama" day and when we arrived to class there were costumes piled on all of the tables and this was my choice...

Update

Not much has happened here in Rexburg...but here is a short overview of a few things I've done over the last few weeks.

One Saturday we wanted some Starbucks...so we drove to Idaho Falls, got lost, and got some creame frappes. What else were we going to do all day?
My roommate Candice plays soccer on an intramural team and I like to go watch cuz it brings me back to the good ol' days of watching the all the boys' soccer games.

We drove out to the hot springs pool in Green Valley...too bad they're closed on Tuesdays during the school year...who woulda thought.

There's No Place Like Home

So I've discovered that I'm a homebody. Who woulda thought? I've already gone home 3 times in the 5 weeks that I've been here...that's probably not a good sign. Living with girls is a challenge. Does anyone know an apartment complex in Rexburg that would let me live with boys?

Well I have some more photos for my photography class...but they are not my greatest because I haven't put a lot of time into my assignments. My last project was "Color." About the only time I found was while I was grocery shopping as you can tell...

I'm still alive

So I don't have any pictures...but I thought I would just let you all know that I am still alive and going...somewhat. I really can't complain, my school load is pretty minimal for college level, but I still don't get very much sleep. Who would've guessed with a bunch of college kids? I slept through class for the first time this morning...whoops.

Roommates are pretty good...they get on my nerves every once in a while but I guess I am learning patience and temporance. I am having fun...trying to meet new people but its hard.

My favorite class is my Family Recreation class, it is super fun! We meet twice a week and one day is discussion and the other is a day just for activities and I love it. The activities are super fun and even the discussions are interesting. Acitivity day is also run by the students and tomorrow is my day to plan and operate. The assignment is arts and crafts, so I planned a bunch of drawing activities...wish me luck.

I also really like my photography class. Well, actually class is pretty boring but I love taking pictures, so its the only time that I can look forward to my homework. My last assignment was to take pictures of my favorite things. Here are a couple of my photos...

Another class that I really enjoy is my Women's Health class. It is really more like a personal health class in that it is designed for the students to improve their own well being. I mean I've aready had to change my diet to eat healthful foods and I have to exercise...so it is a life changing class, really cool.
I really should be trying to sleep...since I have class at 8 in the morning.

In the Burg!

I made it to Rexburg safe and sound and have moved in to my apartment. I start classes tomorrow! I went to church today and got a calling on the first Sunday! I am the activities representative for the Relief Society...don't ask me what that entails. So far I can stand my roommates...but it's only been like three days so we will see. You all know that I'm not used to living with girls, nor do I get along with very many girls. Haha. My diet for the last three days has consisted of cereal, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and red vines licorice. I will cook later in the semester.

Here is my little tiny bedroom that I GET to share...

...and tiny closet I GET to share...

...bathroom for six girls...

...the mess...

...family room... I will let you know how my first week of classes go!

The last...supper?

Haha. So not quite like the last supper...but it is the last week at home before I move out of the house for the first time in my life. I've never moved! Can you believe it? Packing stinks. A lot of my friends have already taken off for college and we've had lots of "last hoo-ras."

Playgrounds are still fun at 18!

Fried ice cream...mmm...

We went fourwheeling and found this beautiful area of giant rocks! So pretty!

Families are Forever

Not to be sappy...but I had to post a goodbye to Jeremy, Natalie, Addie, and Davis. I am definitely going to miss you guys and I wish you the best! I am so glad that I will be flying to Omaha next weekend for a final farewell. Here are a few of the family pictures I took for them before they left. I love you!!!

Five things I will miss most while they are gone:
1. Addie's kisses
2. Jeremy's "oh so wise" advice...and cheese sticks
3. Natalie's listening ear
4. Davis' smiles
5. Sunday afternoons at our house

I Love to See the Temple...

I've been trying to fill my weekends with lots of fun, and so far I've been pretty successful. Last Friday I went on a singles' ward activity. We went to the Twin Falls open house, then to the ropes course at CSI, camped overnight at Anderson Park, and then rafted the Snake River on Saturday. I had so much fun! I didn't get any picture of the ropes course or rafting, but I think it's because I was having way too much fun.
Me and my best friend Kirra on the bus...
I just realized I didn't even get any pictures of the temple, but this is me at the temple. You can kind of see a window in the back.

I forgot my shorts for the ropes course, and it was extremely hot.

Playing around on the playground at our camp.

Yes, I have been going to the singles' ward and no, I haven't gotten a date yet. And to fill you in, I will be leaving on September 4th for Rexburg! Classes start September 8th and I'm pretty excited. I haven't decided on a major yet, but I'm taking a few recreation management classes and thats the major I'm heading towards right now. But who knows, I've changed my mind like 25 times since January...so we will see. Wish me luck!

Little Swimmers

As you all know I teach lots of swimming lessons. I've been teaching them for like three years now, but this year I had one of my most favorite classes. We say we don't pick favorites...but this entire preschool class was definitely my all time favorite! I just had to get a picture with all of them on our last day of lessons. I loved those little fish!

Summer Fun!

My latest excursion was this past weekend with a few friends from work. We went to Cascade and stayed at the cabin and then rafted the Salmon. It was a lot of fun to hang out with friends and we all got one full day off of work, which is a miracle!
